Blue Eyes and Freckles: Beautiful Elena

Meet Boise High senior Elena. She is energetic, witty, and has the most beautiful blue eyes and sun-kissed freckles. What a doll!

These photos were shot in the sagebrush at the base of Bogus Basin Road. I also got some great shots at Hulls Gulch, Hyde Park, and various alleys which warranted texture, and nostalgia. It was the most beautiful October morning spent with this gorgeous strawberry-blonde.

Note: These are a sample of client proofs: only lighting was edited on the following photos.

Taylor & McKenzie: Engagement Photo Session

There's nothing like a playful, romantic engagement session with two young love birds! Add a game of scrabble and that spells one memorable afternoon.

A special thanks to McKenzie's parents for lending a hand with the light reflector and ladder assistance; you rock!

Plenty of Eye Candy in Parma, Idaho

If you have ever been to Parma, Idaho you may have observed a quaint little town with a Mayberry-type feel, one main street and a handful of businesses. The buildings are conservative, practical, and no-nonsense. There is a strong feeling of nostalgia and it isn't unusual to see farm trucks traveling through, or hear the school band practicing in the distance. This is a tight-knit community filled with Parma Panther school spirit and a love for rural America.

As a photographer, Parma is eye candy with many hidden gems: textured buildings with weathered distressed brick, railroad tracks, and old street signs. There are packing crates, and train cars vandalized by graffiti. I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I get to photograph there.

Meet Trevor, Parma senior and basketball player extraordinaire. Trevor is the second of his siblings whom I have photographed, and his mother Anita, a fabulous woman, was kind enough to provide cool beverages and much needed mosquito spray.

Fashion Fotos. Embracing my Love for Photography & Fashion

I get giddy when I can merge fashion and photography into my photo shoots. Alex, a senior from Eagle High School was the perfect subject for me: she was beautiful, fun, had a great sense of style, and took direction well. From skinny jeans and UGGs, to a LBD and red stilettos, we photographed a gamut of looks. And to top it off, it was the most beautiful October afternoon by the river.

Groovin' at the Grove

Saturday was a record high for September 24th, tapping out at 101 degrees which is quite toasty for this time of the year! As Boise was experiencing heat waves, I was trying to remain calm and cool as I photographed the Vandenberg wedding reception at the Grove Hotel in downtown Boise.

I always get a kick out of the various family dynamics I encounter. Take for instance the grooms parents, Bill and Shirley. When Adam Cole asked Shirley what advice she would give to the bride and groom, Shirley (without hesitation) replied, "Have a sense of humor." I couldn't
agree more! I witnessed a lot of people having a great time with a room FULL of personality.

The decorations were stunning, the food looked amazing (I never eat on the job but I was drooling over that prime rib, YUM) and, as I mentioned in a previous post, Adam and Kristin Cole (Sound Wave Music) were fabulous. The beautiful wedding party, family and friends gave me inspiration for some groovin' photos.

I am still editing the photos but I couldn't resist to share the guarder scene (how sexy is that?) and I think the groom is blushing!

I am seldom downtown Boise late at night, especially with camera in hand. As I left the hotel I noticed the traffic and took a few photos; it was a perfect ending to a very eventful day.

A Soldier and His Son

I am a mom with a son in the military. A day doesn't go by that I don't pray for his safety. I feel for all the moms out there who are missing their sons and daughters!

I was honored when Scott asked me to photograph him and his two year old son Kemper. I had forgotten how energetic two year old boys can be, but I managed to get some precious shots of father and son, just days before Scott's return to Afghanistan.

This photo shoot pulled at my heartstrings and I am blessed to have been a part of such a special opportunity. Hurry home Scott!

Sound Wave Music. Boise's Hottest DJ Duo

If you are planning an event and need some rockin' music, I highly recommend Sound Wave Music! I photographed a wedding reception last night at the Grove Hotel in downtown Boise and Adam and Kristin Cole (owners of Sound Wave Music) DJ'd the event. They provided a great selection of music, were extremely professional, very personable, and tons of fun; I caught Kristin doing a little jig now and then (it was so darn cute).

I know the next time I am in need of professional DJ I will not hesitate to call Adam and Kristin.
